Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 pints strawberries
- 2 large sprigs fresh mint leaves
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly and hull them by removing the green stems and leaves.
- Prepare the mint: Separate the fresh mint leaves from the stems, discarding the stems.
- Blend ingredients: In a blender, combine the hulled strawberries, sugar, fresh mint leaves, and water. Puree the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
- Freeze the sorbet: Pour the pureed mixture into an ice cream or sorbet maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Alternatively, transfer the mixture to a container and freeze until firm, stirring occasionally to break up ice crystals.
- Serve: Once frozen, serve the sorbet immediately or store it in the freezer for later enjoyment.
Notes
- Use organic strawberries for better flavor and sweetness if possible.
- Wash strawberries twice in cold water—once before hulling and once after—for extra cleanliness.
- Leftover sorbet can be stored in the freezer for up to one month.
- Before serving stored sorbet, let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften slightly for easier scooping.
