Description

Strawberry Kiss Cookies are a delightful soft sugar cookie treat perfect for Valentine’s Day, featuring a tender cream cheese dough coated in pink or white sanding sugar and topped with a Hershey’s Strawberry Ice Cream Cone Kiss for a melt-in-your-mouth finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • 1 (16 oz) bag Funfetti sugar cookie mix
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg

Coating & Topping

  • ½ cup pink or white sanding sugar or non-pareils
  • 18 Hershey’s Strawberry Ice Cream Cone Kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Make Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the Funfetti sugar cookie mix, softened cream cheese, and egg until a soft dough forms with no dry spots.
  3. Prepare Coating: Place the pink or white sanding sugar or non-pareils into a shallow bowl for easy rolling of the cookie dough balls.
  4. Form Cookie Balls: Using a 1½ tablespoon scoop, scoop out dough portions, roll each in the sanding sugar or non-pareils to coat, and shape them into smooth, round balls.
  5. Chill if Sticky: If the dough feels too sticky to handle, chill it in the refrigerator for 30 to 60 minutes to firm up for easier rolling.
  6. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the coated cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet about 1½ inches apart to allow spreading while baking.
  7. Bake Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers remain soft and tender.
  8. Add Kisses: After baking, let the cookies cool for 3 to 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then gently press one Hershey’s Strawberry Ice Cream Cone Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Cool or Serve Warm: Allow the cookies to cool completely to set the chocolate or enjoy them warm with a soft, melting center.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese to ensure the dough mixes smoothly without lumps.
  • If the dough is sticky, chill it to make handling easier and coat hands with sanding sugar to prevent sticking.
  • For firmer and defined strawberry kiss centers, let cookies cool slightly before pressing the Kisses in.
  • If you prefer a soft, melted strawberry kiss center, press the Kisses into the cookies immediately after removal from the oven.
