Main Ingredients
- 1 pound strawberries
- 4 ounces rum
- 3 ounces simple syrup
- 1 ounce lime juice
Instructions
- Prepare Strawberries: Remove stems from strawberries and slice them in half. Freeze half of the berries, about 8 ounces, for at least 2 hours before blending.
- Blend Ingredients: Add the fresh strawberries and frozen strawberries to the jar of a high-speed blender. Pour in the rum, simple syrup, and lime juice. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Garnish and Serve: Pour the blended mixture into glasses. Garnish each with an extra strawberry and/or a slice of lime for a decorative touch.
- Optional Nonalcoholic Version: To make a nonalcoholic daiquiri, omit the rum and replace it with 4 ounces of water. Blend as instructed.
Notes
- If you don’t want to wait for berries to freeze, use 4 ounces frozen strawberries combined with 4 ounces fresh strawberries.
- You can adjust the amount of rum to your liking; if you reduce rum, you may need to add water to help the blender blend smoothly.
- Simple syrup quantity can be modified depending on your taste preference and the sweetness of your strawberries.
- Use any type of rum you enjoy: white rum or coconut rum work well, but spiced or dark rum are also delicious alternatives.
