Description

Delicious no bake Oreo truffles made with crushed Oreo cookies and cream cheese, dipped in a variety of melted chocolates and decorated with sprinkles for a fun and easy treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 25 original Oreo cookies
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened

Dipping Chocolate

  • 1/2 cup chopped white chocolate for dipping
  • 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate for dipping

Decoration

  • assorted sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Pulse the Oreos in a food processor until crushed into small crumbs.
  2. Mix with cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the crushed Oreos and process until the mixture forms a big balled clump on one side that looks very shiny.
  3. Form truffle balls: Use a medium cookie scoop to portion the mixture into 1 inch balls, then roll each ball between the palms of your hands to create a smooth and even shape. Place the truffles onto parchment paper and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  4. Melt the chocolates: Place each kind of chocolate in separate small microwaveable bowls. Microwave them in 30 second intervals until nearly melted, stopping when a few small unmelted pieces remain, then stir to melt completely with residual heat. This helps prevent burning.
  5. Dip the truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into your preferred melted chocolate and place back onto the parchment paper. Decorate with sprinkles or extra drizzles of chocolate if desired.
  6. Harden the chocolate coating: Let the dipped truffles set until the chocolate hardens. You can either leave them at room temperature for about 30 minutes, refrigerate for 10 minutes, or freeze for 3 minutes.

Notes

  • Use regular Oreos rather than Double Stuf, as the latter has too much filling for this recipe. Brands like Back to Nature, Newman-O’s, and Famous Amos are good alternatives.
  • Any chocolate can be used for dipping: white, milk, ruby, or dark. For sweeter desserts, choose white, milk, or ruby chocolate; for less sweet, choose dark chocolate.
  • Store leftover truffles in a single layer on wax or parchment paper inside an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • To freeze, place truffles in an airtight container and freeze for up to 2 months.
