- 10 ounces Cool Whip, thawed (1 container)
- 1 cup Sour cream
- 3 ounces Orange-flavored gelatin (1 package)
- 15 ounces Mandarin oranges, well drained (1 can)
- 1 cup Mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Mix base ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed Cool Whip and sour cream. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Add gelatin: Sprinkle the orange-flavored gelatin over the mixture and stir thoroughly until completely dissolved and combined.
- Fold in fruit and marshmallows: Gently fold the well-drained mandarin oranges and mini marshmallows into the mixture to keep the texture light and airy.
- Chill before serving: Transfer the salad to a serving bowl and cover tightly. Refrigerate for up to 48 hours to allow flavors to meld and the gelatin to set. Stir well before serving.
Notes
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator, tightly covered, for up to 2 days to maintain freshness.
- Make sure to drain the mandarin oranges well to avoid excess liquid which can dilute the salad.
- For a lighter version, use low-fat sour cream and reduced-fat Cool Whip.
