Description

These Halloween Oreo M&M’s cookies combine festive candy colors with chunks of Oreo for a chewy, gooey, and festive treat perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter Slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Add-ins

  • 2/3 cup Halloween M&M’s
  • 7 Halloween Oreo cookies roughly chopped, regular stuffed (NOT DOUBLE STUFFED), chilled

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars In a medium bowl, use a spatula or mixer to cream together the slightly softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and combined.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients Add the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir just until all the dry ingredients are combined with the wet ingredients, avoiding overmixing.
  5. Fold in Candy and Oreos Gently fold the Halloween M&M’s and chopped Oreo pieces into the cookie dough to evenly distribute them.
  6. Portion Dough Using a large cookie scoop or 1/4 cup measuring cup, scoop out dough portions to form 10 equal cookies. Place them spaced apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Optional Topping If desired, press extra M&M’s and Oreo pieces gently on top of each cookie for added decoration and texture.
  8. Bake Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 11 minutes. The centers may look slightly undercooked or gooey, which is ideal for a soft texture.
  9. Shape and Cool Right after removing the cookies from the oven, gently swish them around with a larger cookie cutter to make perfectly round shapes. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use regular stuffed Halloween Oreos as double stuffed may alter dough texture.
  • Chilling the chopped Oreos before mixing helps maintain cookie dough consistency.
  • Do not overbake; cookies will continue to set after removal.
  • For best results, use a cookie scooper to ensure uniform cookie sizes.
  • Optional topping adds visual appeal and extra crunch.
