Description

This Halloween Bark is a festive and delicious treat combining melted semi-sweet chocolate with swirls of caramel syrup and a variety of fun toppings like candy corn, pretzels, Reese’s, M&M’s, candy eyeballs, and optional Halloween sprinkles. Perfect for a spooky celebration, it is easy to make, requiring no baking, just chilling to set.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tbsp caramel syrup

Toppings

  • ½ cup candy corn
  • ¼ cup pretzels, roughly chopped or left whole
  • ½ cup Reese’s, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup M&M’s
  • 2 tbsp candy eyeballs
  • Halloween sprinkles, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside to ensure easy removal of the bark after it sets.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a double boiler or in the microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each to achieve a smooth, fully melted consistency.
  3. Spread the Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the lined sheet pan and spread evenly to the edges to create an even layer.
  4. Drizzle Caramel: Drizzle the caramel syrup over the melted chocolate evenly for added sweetness and a marbled effect.
  5. Add Toppings: Sprinkle candy corn, pretzels, chopped Reese’s, M&M’s, candy eyeballs, and optional Halloween sprinkles evenly over the chocolate and caramel layer.
  6. Chill to Set: Place the sheet pan into the refrigerator for 1 hour or until the chocolate is completely hardened and firm to touch.
  7. Remove and Cut: Carefully lift the parchment paper out of the pan and gently peel it off the back of the bark. Cut the bark into irregular shapes for a rustic look and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper with overhanging edges to easily lift the bark from the pan.
  • For best results, use high-quality semi-sweet chocolate chips for a glossy finish.
  • If preferred, substitute caramel syrup with homemade caramel sauce or dulce de leche.
  • Store leftover bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • Customize toppings according to preference or allergy considerations.
