Description

Frankenguac is a fun and festive guacamole recipe featuring mashed avocados seasoned with lime juice, cumin, and salt, then mixed with fresh onions, cilantro, and garlic. The guacamole is shaped into a rectangular form and decorated with tortilla chips, sour cream, black olives, and black beans for a colorful presentation, perfect for parties or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3 avocados halved and peeled
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ cup onions finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cilantro chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced

For Decorating and Serving

  • Tortilla chips for decorating and serving
  • Sour cream for decorating
  • Black olives for decorating
  • Black beans for decorating

Instructions

  1. Mash the Avocados: Place the halved and peeled avocados along with the lime juice in a large bowl. Use the back of a fork to mash them together until creamy but still a bit chunky.
  2. Season the Mixture: Add Kosher salt and cumin to the mashed avocado and continue to mash until the seasoning is well incorporated.
  3. Add Fresh Ingredients: Gently fold in the finely chopped onions, chopped cilantro, and minced garlic into the avocado mixture, mixing just enough to combine evenly.
  4. Shape and Decorate: Spread the guacamole into a rectangular shape on a serving platter. Decorate the surface with tortilla chips around the edges, dollops of sour cream, sliced black olives, and black beans to create a festive look.

Notes

  • For best results, use very ripe avocados which soften easily when squeezed.
  • Consume the guacamole immediately after preparation to enjoy its fresh flavor and vibrant green color.
  • If storing, cover the guacamole tightly with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to minimize browning.
  • If browning occurs, scrape off the top layer before serving.
  • Decorate the guacamole only just before serving to maintain its appealing presentation.
