Scale
Sauce
- 2 cups tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup onion, minced
Meat
- 2 packages (13 ounces each) Little Smokies
Garnish
- Green onions, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Sauce Ingredients: Place the tomato ketchup, liquid smoke, brown sugar, and minced onion into the crockpot and stir well to combine all the flavors.
- Add Little Smokies: Add the Little Smokies sausages to the crockpot and stir to coat them thoroughly with the sauce mixture.
- Cook: Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 3 hours until the sausages are heated through and infused with sauce flavors.
- Serve: Switch the crockpot to the warm setting. Serve the Little Smokies topped with chopped green onions for a fresh garnish, either directly from the crockpot or in individual bowls if serving right away.
Notes
- You can substitute soy sauce for liquid smoke to give an Asian-inspired twist.
- Cooking on low for 3 hours will make the flavors more melded, while high for 2 hours is quicker without sacrificing taste.
- Green onions are optional but add a nice fresh and slightly sharp contrast to the sweet smoky sauce.
- Use a slow cooker liner for easier clean-up.
- Serve as a party appetizer or alongside your favorite BBQ dishes for a crowd-pleaser.
