Description

This Cowboy Butter Garlic Bread is a cheesy, buttery twist on classic garlic bread, perfect as a savory side dish or appetizer. Made with a generous spread of flavorful cowboy butter, topped with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses, then baked to golden perfection. Garnished with fresh parsley for a burst of color and freshness.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Butter Mixture

  • 1 cup cowboy butter, softened, divided

Bread

  • 1 Italian loaf, cut in half horizontally

Cheese

  • 2 cups (226 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) parmesan cheese, shredded, divided

Seasoning and Garnish

  • salt, to taste
  • parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Bread: Slice the Italian loaf in half horizontally to create two large halves.
  3. Apply Cowboy Butter: Spread the softened cowboy butter evenly over each cut side of the bread, using about ½ cup of butter per half to ensure rich flavor.
  4. Add Cheese: Evenly sprinkle one-half of the mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese over each buttered side of the bread. Season lightly with salt if desired.
  5. Bake: Place the prepared bread halves on the lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and starts to turn golden brown.
  6. Slice and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Slice the bread into 12 portions or your preferred serving size. Garnish with fresh parsley for a bright, fresh finish and serve warm.

Notes

  • For an air fryer method, preheat the air fryer to 350°F, place the bread halves (cut to fit the basket) inside, and air fry for 4 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Use a good quality cowboy butter for maximum flavor; alternatively, you can make your own with butter, garlic, herbs, and spices.
  • You can substitute Italian loaf with any crusty bread such as French baguette or sourdough.
  • For a spicier version, sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes over the cheese before baking.
  • Allow garlic bread to cool slightly before slicing to keep toppings intact.
