Ingredients
Scale
White Layer:
- 2 packets (0.25 ounces each) Unflavored Gelatin
- ½ cup Vodka
- ½ cup Boiling Water
- ½ cup Simple Syrup
- ½ cup Whipped Cream
- ½ teaspoon Almond Extract
Orange Layer:
- 1 box (3 ounces) Orange Gelatin
- ¾ cup Boiling Water
- ½ cup Cold Water
- ½ cup Vodka
- ⅓ cup Whipped Cream
Yellow Layer:
- 1 box (3 ounces) Yellow Gelatin
- ¾ cup Boiling Water
- ½ cup Cold Water
- ½ cup Vodka
- ⅓ cup Whipped Cream
Garnish (optional):
- Whipped Cream
- Candy Corn
Instructions
- Prepare White Layer Gelatin: Add the vodka for the white layer to a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin packets over the vodka and lightly mix to ensure all powder is wetted. Let the gelatin bloom for about 5 minutes.
- Dissolve Gelatin: Pour the boiling water over the gelatin and stir until fully dissolved. Add the simple syrup and stir slightly. Gently whisk in the whipped cream and almond extract, being careful to avoid excessive foaming.
- Fill Shot Cups: Using a syringe or pouring measuring glass, fill each shot cup about one-third full with the white gelatin mixture. Place in the refrigerator on a level surface and chill for about 1 hour until the layer sets.
- Prepare Orange Layer Gelatin: When the white layer is nearly set, combine the orange gelatin powder and boiling water in a medium bowl. Stir until dissolved, then add the vodka and cold water, stirring again.
- Add Whipped Cream: Lightly whisk in the whipped cream until just combined. Let the mixture cool for about 15 minutes as the white layer finishes setting.
- Add Orange Layer: Fill each shot glass another one-third full with the orange gelatin mixture using the syringe or pouring glass. Chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour until set.
- Prepare Yellow Layer Gelatin: Repeat the process for the yellow gelatin by dissolving in boiling water, adding cold water and vodka, then incorporating whipped cream after cooling slightly.
- Add Yellow Layer: Fill the shot cups with the remaining yellow gelatin mixture to the top and refrigerate until fully set, about 1 hour.
- Garnish and Serve: Once fully set, top each jello shot with a dollop of whipped cream and a piece of candy corn just before serving. Enjoy your festive Candy Corn Jello Shots!
Notes
- Store jello shots uncovered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days or covered for up to 5 days. Do not freeze.
- To add whipped cream on top, use a Wilton 1M frosting tip with a disposable bag for neat dollops.
- Do not garnish with whipped cream or candy corn before chilling to avoid stiffness and stickiness.
- Glass shot glasses require mini spoons for serving as the gelatin won’t loosen from the sides easily.
- You can use smaller shot glasses to increase the number of servings, dividing each color into equal thirds of your chosen cup size.
- Almond extract in the white layer adds a candy corn flavor but is optional and can be substituted with fruity flavors.
- Light white lines between layers may appear due to whipped cream settling; omitting whipped cream reduces this effect but lessens layer definition.
