Description

Candy Corn Hot Chocolate is a festive and creamy drink combining milk, heavy cream, white chocolate, and melted candy corn for a sweet and indulgent treat. Perfect for cozying up during the holidays, this hot chocolate can be topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, or sprinkles for extra flair.

Ingredients

Scale

Hot Chocolate Base

  • 1½ cups milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup candy corn
  • ¾ cup white chocolate chips, divided
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Marshmallows
  • Hot fudge
  • Sprinkles
  • Crystalized sugar

Instructions

  1. Boil Water and Melt Candy Corn: Add the ½ cup of water to a saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, add the candy corn and stir continuously until it is completely melted.
  2. Add Dairy and White Chocolate: Reduce the heat to medium and add the milk, heavy cream, and ½ cup of white chocolate chips to the melted candy corn mixture. Stir until the white chocolate chips have melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Finish with Vanilla: Turn off the heat, then add the ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir well to combine all the flavors evenly.
  4. Serve: Pour the hot chocolate into mugs. Add optional toppings such as whipped cream, marshmallows, hot fudge, sprinkles, or crystallized sugar as desired.
  5. Prepare Glass Rim with Sprinkles: Melt the remaining ¼ cup of white chocolate chips in a shallow dish in the microwave by heating in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
  6. Coat Rim with White Chocolate: Turn your mug upside down and gently spin it in the melted white chocolate to coat the rim evenly.
  7. Add Sprinkles to Rim: Place sprinkles or crystallized sugar in a separate shallow dish. Allow the white chocolate on the mug’s rim to set for 30 seconds to reduce dripping. Then, lightly hover the mug above the sprinkles and spin to adhere the sprinkles to the white chocolate coating without applying pressure.

Notes

  • The recipe serves 2, 10-ounce servings, but quantities can be doubled if needed.
  • Use a measuring glass with a spout to pour hot chocolate neatly into mugs and avoid wetting the sprinkles.
  • Store any leftover hot chocolate in the refrigerator covered; reheat gently in a saucepan until warm before serving.
  • Melt white chocolate chips carefully by microwaving in short bursts and stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  • Optional toppings are customizable — add more or less to suit your taste.
