Description

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these Air Fryer French Toast Sticks are a quick and delicious breakfast treat. Perfectly golden and easy to dip in syrup, they are ideal for busy mornings or a fun brunch.

Ingredients

Units Scale

French Toast Sticks

  • 6 slices bread, cut into sticks
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the egg mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
  2. Dip the bread sticks: Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, making sure to coat all sides well.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and let it preheat for about 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange the sticks: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray. Place the coated bread sticks in a single layer inside the basket, making sure they don’t overlap for even cooking.
  5. Air fry the sticks: Cook the French toast sticks at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure golden brown on all sides.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the sticks from the air fryer and serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for best results as it holds up better during dipping.
  • Adjust cinnamon and sugar to taste for a more or less sweet flavor.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, these can be cooked in a skillet on the stovetop with butter over medium heat until golden on all sides.
  • Spraying the air fryer basket prevents sticking and helps the sticks crisp up nicely.
